THE LIMESTONE RODEO
THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF THIS YEAR’S TITLE SPONSOR
RODEO RULES HAVE CHANGED AGAIN THIS YEAR!
Ticketed attendees only
The Limestone Rodeo 2024 is a red-point partner competition (this means no falls or hangs or aiding of any kind, and the anchor must be clipped). This competition is meant for participants of any skill level! There are lots of fun prizes for participants!
Rules
Please be honest.
All competitors/teams must be at the Saturday morning pre-rodeo roundup meeting at Wild Iris Main Wall parking lot at 7:30 AM. The Limestone Rodeo starts at 8 AM on Saturday morning from here, and ends at 4 PM back at the Wild Iris Main Wall Parking lot.
Only routes on designated walls/sectors count.
The grades/walls follow the new 2023 guidebook "Lander Rock Climbs" (available at Wild Iris Mountain Sports).
Competitors are only allowed to submit up to 4 climbs from each sector to count towards their overall 15-pitch score, so you must visit multiple sectors throughout the day! Competitors should submit their top 15 pitches, but 15 pitches is not required!
Routes must be red-pointed to count. This means no falls or hangs, aiding of any kind, and the anchor must be clipped!
Partners must match each other pitch for pitch (not necessarily climb for climb); your partner cannot climb pitches for you.
You must use this official scorecard during the competition and turn in the one you use (please be kind to the judges and be as neat as possible!).
SCORECARDS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED BEFORE 4 PM! 500 points will be deducted from competitors' scorecards if turned in after 4 PM. Cards submitted at or after 4:15 PM will not be considered.
No gear stashing is allowed, be fair!
The use of motorized or wheeled transportation is not allowed at this competition.
Using stick clips is permitted for safety reasons.
WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER EVENT in City Park.
NOTES
You need a partner for this competition, and both names are needed for sign-up.
Prizes will be given to the top three places of each categories AND contestants will all have the opportunity to find a Black Diamond Golden Carabiner on route for additional prizes throughout the competition!
This is meant to be a fun, friendly competition in the spirit of the Climbers’ Festival, celebrating community and enjoying camaraderie. Don’t be intimidated - we hope you’ll participate!
