Howdy Folks! Check out the schedule for this years’ International Climbers’ Festival. Most events are free with the purchase of your festival ticket. Be sure to check up on this before the festival so you are sure to make enough time for your projects.
Wednesday June 7
10:00am Ticket sales open at Wild Iris Mountain Sports
6:00 pm Make your way to the Nobel Hotel for a presentation by Arno Ilgner author of Rock Warriors Way and get your head in shape for a week of crushing. Free with ticket $5 without.
Thursday July 8th
9:oo am Start your day centered by joining us at the Lander City Park for free yoga, open to all levels! Instructor TBA.
10:00 am Ticket sales continue at Wild Iris Mountain Sports.
6:30 pm “What Dosent Kill You Makes You Stronger”, a presentation by veteran climber Dave Anderson. His presentation will cover 30 years of broken holds broken bones and other various set backs that he has encountered climbing around the world.
8:00 pm Opening Party!!! come over to the Lander Bar for a celebration sure to start the festival off with a bang. There will be a pull up competition plenty of drinking music, and general ruckus
Friday July 9th
7:00 am Sinks Canyon Clean. Come do your part to give back and help clean up the trails in Sinks canyon. Just in case your a bit hung over from the opening party Wild Flour bakery will be providing free coffee and pastries. Please bring your climbing helmet. Hosted by the National Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
10:00 am Trade Show. Come check out all the cool gear and contests to be had at the trade show.
-Rope Puzzles: think you know knots? come try our rope puzzle challenges, you might just learn something that will save your arse today.
-Crate Stacking: competition begins at 12:00, be sure to sign up as contestants are limited. This is an event not tobe missed. Watch as contestants build a tower of milk crates as they balance atop.
-Bat Hang: Competition starts around 2:00 pm. 20+ feet off the ground, hanging by the strength of your toes, great prizes. Ladies, skirts are highly encouraged.
-Slack line competition. starts at about 4:00 pm show your skills on the slack line. Extra points for costumes!
7:00 pm Slideshow by Jason Kehl. Follow this dark horse of climbing across the world as he takes us along for a journey to the edge of hard high ball bouldering. Free with ticket, $10 without.
8:30 pm After the slideshow make your way back to the lander bar for a live show from the White River Ramblers.
Saturday July 10th
6:00 am Wild Iris 20k trail run registration and race begin.
7:00 am 10k and 5k races begin.
8:00 am Iris Yoga. Get out to Wild Iris before a day of clinics. Instructor TBA
9:00 am Free breakfast sponsored by Mountain Hardwear
10:00 am Clinics begin, check our clinics page for more details.
5:00 pm Telluride Mountain Film Festival and silent auction. Check out this years presentation of films sure to have you on the edge of your seat. There will also be a silent auction and great give aways. Free with ticket, $10 without.
8:00 pm Street Party, every year the festival takes over first street at the Jaycee park.
-Free Beer from New Belgium
-Dyno Competition hosted by 307 bouldering
-Live music by Rojos Calientes
Sunday July 11th
8:00 am Breakfast with the Board. Enjoy a free breakfast at the Lander City Park served to you by the board members of the International Climbers’ Festival.
10:00 am another session of yoga to start your day of climbing at Wild Iris, instructor TBA.
