Climb STRONG!

The first program of its kind, “Climb Strong” is a comprehensive training program that covers all the bases when it comes to improving your rock climbing performance. The program’s proven methods have been effective for rock climbers all across the globe, and now this very effective training program will be offered in a weekend seminar. Launching at this year’s International Climbers’ Festival in Lander, Wyoming, Climb Strong is an educational opportunity for climbers of all abilities.

The program includes detailed instruction and planning from two of America’s leading experts in training for rock climbing. Some of the topics covered include:

• Training for Endurance and Stamina

The Lander event will be held on Saturday, July 11th from 10am to 5:30pm and will feature both lecture and hands-on training. Athletes should come prepared to boulder and to do other forms of exercise. Cost for this clinic is just $125, or $100 for International Climbers’ Festival ticket holders. This event will be hosted by Elemental Training Center at 134 Lincoln in Lander.

About the Instructors:

Eric Hörst is the nation’s leading authority on climbing performance. An accomplished climber of 32 years, Eric has ascended cliffs all across the United States and Europe. Driven by his passion for adventure and challenge, he has established over 400 first ascents, primarily on his home cliffs in the Eastern states. Eric’s latest book, Conditioning for Climbers (Falcon), was released on April 2008, and a second edition of his best-selling book, Training For Climbing, was released in September 2008. Eric’s newest book, Maximum Climbing, will be released in early 2010.

A student and teacher of climbing performance, Eric has personally helped train hundreds of climbers, and his training books and concepts have spread to climbers in more than 50 countries. He is widely recognized for his innovative training techniques and equipment, and he has been a training products design consultant for Nicros, Inc. since 1994. Eric has written five books on climbing performance including Flash Training (1994), How To Climb 5.12 (1997/2003), Learning to Climb Indoors (2006). Steve Bechtel has been coaching athletes of all abilities for over ten years. A climber for nearly 25 years, Steve has pioneered hundreds of new climbs on six continents. He is considered one of the world’s foremost experts in performance coaching for boulderers, climbers and alpinists. Steve holds a degree in Exercise Physiology, certifications from USA Triathlon, USA Weightlifting, and USA Cycling, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA.

He owns and operates Elemental Training Center, an athletic training center in Lander, Wyoming.
