Mass start during 2007 Wild Iris Trail Run5K AND 10K DETAILS

The WILD Iris 5k/10k Mountain Run is an out-and-back that takes off from the climbers’ parking lot at Wild Iris on Limestone Mountain. It immediately climbs north on FR327 past the radio towers and then takes a steady descent to the turnaround at the halfway point. The rolling descent is beautifully framed by the Wind River Mountains to the west and Red Canyon to the east.

The first of two aid stations will be at mile 1.5 (this is the 5k turnaround); this aid station will also be stocked for the return. The second aid station will be at the 10k turnaround. Aid stations will be stocked with water and sports drink. The Wilderness Medicine Institute, whose headquarters are based in Lander, will provide EMT trained volunteers at the second aid station and the finish line for the safety of our participants. Two porta-johns and one USFS bathroom will be available.

The race will start at 7:30am on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Pre-registered bib numbers and directions to the race can be picked up at the International Climbers’ Festival Trade Fair on Friday between 11am and 3pm in Lander City Park.
